Margarita Grill: A Vision Brought to Life
Founded in 2004, Margarita Grill was the brainchild of Nicaraguan restaurateur Javier Jerez. After gaining experience at a prominent Tex-Mex establishment in Shelby County, Alabama, and forming a partnership with a restaurant in Pelham, Javier recognized the area's potential for something new. With his brother, Rodrigo Jerez, he set out to create a unique dining destination that combined authentic flavors with a welcoming atmosphere.
Central to their vision was the installation of a Mesquite firewood grill—sourced directly from Texas—and a flour tortilla machine, both chosen to honor and elevate the rich culinary roots of Tex-Mex cuisine. To this day, the Mesquite wood is shipped from Texas, preserving the signature flavor that defines Margarita Grill.
"I wanted to create a place that was just as inviting for families as it was for friends meeting up at the bar," Javier explains.
Margarita Grill officially opened its doors on November 16, 2006, and today guests can enjoy a dedicated bar area, a spacious dining room, and two patios—now including a dog-friendly option—live music played nightly, and a laid-back, beach-inspired vibe.
At Margarita Grill, bold flavors, good times, and lasting memories come together to bring people closer—one meal at a time.
